A new interior for an apartment at the Lairessestraat in Amsterdam was needed. The apartment is situated in a 1915 build complex in Amsterdam-South, on the corner of the Lairessestraat en the Cornelis Schuytstraat. A demolition of the existing interior and building a totally new interior was the commission.
It’s a special feature to have a 285 M2 apartment in Amsterdam on one floor. It is located on the third floor.
In present time a functional outside space is a logical part of an apartment of this size. By recessing the back façade and sacrificing two bedrooms, a patio can fit in.
The hall has a central position in the house. But the hall has no functional implementation. By locating the kitchen here, the space becomes also in a functional way the heart of the house.
