The project is a patiohouse in the Muziekwijk in Almere. We planned to rebuild this big 4-room house into a house with a loft-like open character. The house has a low entrance-block, a high living connected to the patio and behind this part a block with hall, three bedrooms and bathroom on ground floor and first floor.
On the ground floor and the first floor all spaces are connected in an open way to become a loft. On ground floor the bedroom block is transformed into a dining room and kitchen connected to the living. A unit with stairs, kitchen, cupboards and storage structures the space. Upstairs the rooms around the central void have been transformed into an open space with bed, bath and wardrobe.
The unit with stairs, kitchen, cupboards and storage is hiding the typical Dutch housing construction, thus transforming the house into a loft.
